Ancram Fire Company with automatic mutual aid Taghkanic Fire Company were dispatched to a structure fire that started as a chimney fire. Homeowner reported seeing flames coming out from around her chimney when calling 911. Charring took place around the chimney and was removed by Ancram firefighters. The initial fire was knocked down by a home fire extinguisher making the fire almost completely out. Taghkanic units were placed on standby at Ancram station while cleaning up took place. Please keep your chimneys clean and clear of debris.
