| On August 23, 2025, Ronald Bailey Van Tassel, 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones. Ronnie was born in Hillsdale, May 15, 1938. He joined the United States Marine Corp, married Clara Boice, and lived in Ancram with his family for 65 years. He was an active and life member of the Ancram Fire Company. Once decorated for saving the life of two fellow firefighters during a call. Funeral and Celebration of Ron’s life will be held on Saturday August 30, 2025, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Ancram, NY. Family will receive loved ones, friends, and neighbors from 10:00-11:00AM; Funeral/Celebration will begin at 11:00AM, with graveside ceremony immediately following in Ancram Union Cemetery.
