The Ancram Fire Company participated in the Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk NYC this past Sunday. A team of four members ran/walked the 5K to support the foundation that helps families of fallen first responders and service members. Sponsored by the Ancram Fire Company, the team dressed in their gear running from the Brooklyn side of the Hugh L. Carey (Brooklyn Battery) Tunnel into Manhattan up to the World Trade Center Memorials. The 5K is inspired by Firefighter Stephen Siller who on September 11th, 2001, ran from the tunnel to the world trade center with his gear determined to help people. The Ancram Fire Company team is incredibly honored to have participated in such an inspiring and emotional event.
