Vehicle Fire Drill

The Ancram Fire Company practiced extinguishing a car fire Tuesday evening. Members used a car from Jims Auto Body to gain access to, spray water on and practice tactics when responding to vehicle fires. Members tried different methods to find ways to get water into an engine compartment as well as into the passanger compartment. In the classroom members discussed how those tactics and options would change if in the event the vehicle is an electric vehicle or another type of alternative fuel and how fire behavior would be impacted.
